A “smart city” is one that gathers data from digital sources, like sensors, cameras, energy meters, and other devices, and uses this to manage resources and make decisions. All of this real-time data then needs to be integrated, analyzed, and often shared in an online portal or app.
In this week’s podcast (the final of the season), @mapgirll and I talk about the benefits and challenges of smart cities. We go over real examples, and how cities are using real-time data to improve urban services, sustainability, and more.
